About Hoodia Gordonii

Hoodia (pronounced HOO-dee-ah) is a genus name for 13 species and one of them is called Hoodia Gordonii, and so far the only Hoodia that has the potential to help people suppress their appetite is Hoodia Gordonii.

Hoodia Gordonii is a succulent plant that lives in the semi-desert environment that has been used by the local tribe to suppress their appetite during the hunting season. It work by fooling the brain thinking that you are in full condition.

In 1977, South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) isolated the ingredient in Hoodia Gordonii that is responsible for the appetite suppressant effect, they called it P57.

Fake Alli

In January 2010, The FDA has discovered that there are many counterfeited Alli product being sold in the internet.

The counterfeited product is not using Orlistat which is the real ingredient for the real Alli but they are using Sibutramine. Sibutramine is a banned ingredient due to its nasty side effect that relate to stroke or heart attack.

Sibutramine that is on the fake Alli is twice the amount of the recommended or safe level. The concern doesn't stop there, because Sibutramine usually need to be taken only once a day but Alli recommended dose is three times a day so if you are using a fake Alli you would consume Sibutramine three times a day with twice the safe dose.

According to investigation from natural news on Pure hoodia, Pure Hoodia is a scam because:

  1. In naturalnews own testing they figure out that Pure Hoodia is using counterfeited Hoodia.
  2. The quantity of the capsule is not like what the company says it be, the company said that they use 400mg but the test show only 290mg.
  3. Use dirty tactic to use other Hoodia company intellectual property.
  4. Manipulating the content from natural news investigation about them and make it look like naturalnews is promoting them.
  5. Use fake review website to promote their site.
